Understanding Your Business Profiles in Local Search

The section at the top of your NMR Analytics report is a breakdown of activity relating to your Google Business Profile page. Reviewing the chart on the left "Your Business Profiles in Local Search" can help you understand how people found your Google Business Profile page(s).

The Your Business Profiles in Local Search chart:

Location breakdown
If you have a multi-location store, you may see different locations appear in the left hand column. The location name that appears is the GBP listing that your customer saw after they entered their search term into Google.

Searches breakdown
The middle column is a list of the search terms that showed your GBP in the search results.

Numbers breakdown
This is the total number of impressions on your GBP based on the search terms. Google does not provide specific numbers if the number is less than 15, so you may see <15 appear on your list. Impressions happen whenever your GBP listing shows in search results, this can happen when your GBP panel shows on the right side, in a map pack or when you show as a result or location in Google Maps. Image examples for each of these are below for reference. Impressions may be higher than other "action items" on your GBP, but GBP can be a lot of "look, but don't touch". Once someone finds your GBP, they know your hours, can see reviews, your address, etc. without needing to take any action. For example, I often will do a search for a business while I'm already out just to confirm they are open before heading in. The GBP provided value to me, as a searcher, which would count as an impression, and gave me the information I needed to get me in the door.
