Why Upload a New POS Export?

Uploading a new Point of Sale (POS) export to Catalyst offers you the ability to synchronize crucial product information between your physical store and your website. This synchronization ensures that your online store reflects accurate and up-to-date data, ultimately enhancing the user experience and driving sales.

Here are some compelling reasons why you might want to upload a new POS export:

1. Consistent Product Prices:

When you upload a new POS export, any changes in product prices made within your physical store will automatically reflect on your website. This ensures that customers browsing your website see the most current prices, reducing confusion and fostering trust.

2. Merchandizing New Products:

Introducing new products to your store? By uploading a new POS export, you can seamlessly add these products to your online catalog. This empowers you to effectively merchandise these new items, ensuring they are equipped with high-quality sales copy, images, and accurate categorization, making them highly visible to your online audience and search engines.

If a product is not yet in our merchandised database, uploading a new POS export allows you to request merchandizing for that product through our product request system.

3. Removing Discontinued Products:

When certain products are no longer available in your physical store, uploading a POS export will remove these items from your online catalog within two days. This prevents customers from ordering products that are no longer in stock, enhancing their shopping experience.

 

How to upload a new POS export

 

1. Select the "Upload a New POS Export" button located on the Catalyst dashboard.

This will take you to a form where you can upload your latest POS data.

2. Drag and drop your CSV export in the upload area.

Wait until the export is processed and you see confirmation that it was received successfully. If there is a problem with your export, an error will display.

Please note that submitting POS data via this page does not immediately update your website. It may take up to 24 hours for the changes to appear on your website.

It’s important to keep the column headers in your POS export consistently named between uploads. Catalyst looks for these names on each subsequent upload. If it can’t find one or more columns that it needs, you’ll see an error.

The names of each required column are displayed on the right-hand side of the page. They will differ from what is pictured depending on the column headers you've submitted previously.
