Question: I see my domain in Google Search Console, but it doesn't say "Domain Property" below it. Is it necessary for it to say "Domain Property"?

Answer: Yes, your domain needs to say Domain Property underneath it. The domain property simply means that the domain has been verified with your domain provider. In order for you to sync your NMR Analytics with Google Search Console, this step does need to happen. Here's what you do:

  1. Login to your Google Search Console account (if you haven't already)
  2. Select the domain dropdown in the left hand corner
  3. Select "+ Add property"
  4. Type your domain into the left side Domain box (gray)
  5. Click "Continue"
  6. Update the dropdown next to "Instructions for:" to "Any DNS provider"
  7. Copy the TXT record
  8. Paste the line of code (txt record) into the DNS configuration (see below for specific instructions)
  9. Head back to Search Console and press verify
*Note: DNS changes may take some time to apply. If Search Console doesn’t find the record immediately, wait a day and then try to verify again
*Hitting verify in Google Search Console is an essential step that does need to take place in order for this to be successfully completed
