At New Media Retailer, we help independent retailers connect their in-store point of sale POS system with their Shopify eCommerce store. This integration keeps your inventory, pricing, and products in sync — saving you time and reducing errors. This guide explains how your POS system can integrate with Shopify and what to expect.

Integration Types:

  • One-Way Integration:

A one-way integration means product and inventory data flows from your POS into Shopify. Orders placed on Shopify do not flow back to the POS, so you must manually enter them into your in-store system.

  • Two-Way Integration:

A two-way integration allows data to flow both ways. Product and inventory data sync from the POS to Shopify, and orders placed online are sent back into your POS — keeping both systems aligned automatically.

  • Manual

A manual integration means that we know that a POS System can generate a CSV export, but the CSV file has to be manually uploaded into our systems in order to sync product prices and quantities.
